What gets deleted

When you request account deletion, we will permanently delete:

• Your account and login credentials
• Your personal details (name, email, contact information)
• Your uploaded receipts and expense records
• Your tax return data and supporting documents
• Your in-app messages and attachments
• Any profile images and ID documents you've uploaded

What we may need to retain

Some information must be retained for legal and regulatory reasons, even after you request deletion. This typically includes:

• Financial and tax records — HMRC requires records relating to tax submissions to be retained for at least 6 years (and up to 6 years after the end of the relevant accounting period for businesses). We retain the minimum necessary to meet these obligations.
• Anonymised data — data that has been anonymised so it can no longer be linked back to you may be kept for analytical purposes.
• Records required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Retained records are stored securely and are not used for any active processing of your account.

How to request deletion

Choose whichever option is easiest for you:

Option 1 — Delete from within the app (recommended if you can still sign in)

1. Open the Marine Accounts app
2. Go to Profile → Delete Account
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm the request

Option 2 — Email us

If you can't access the app, email us at [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, with the subject line "Delete my account".

Please include:

• Your full name
• The email address registered to your Marine Accounts account

How long it takes

We will action your deletion request within 30 days of receiving it. You will receive a confirmation email once the deletion has been completed.
